Brief Description

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), Houston, TX, seeks an adult neurologist with training and expertise in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology to join the Peter Kellaway Section of Neurophysiology & Epilepsy, Department of Neurology and the Baylor St. Luke’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level.    

Baylor College of Medicine is a nationally and internationally recognized institution.  The Department of Neurology is highly regarded and nationally ranked and is affiliated with Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (BSLMC), Harris Health System with its Ben Taub Hospital and Smith Clinic, Michael E. DeBakey Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC), Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH), and the outpatient Baylor Medicine Clinics.

The Peter Kellaway Section of Neurophysiology & Epilepsy oversees academic, educational, clinical services and research of its faculty, fellows and staff.  The Baylor St. Luke’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is a designated National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) Level IV center.  The Center provides the full range of services to adults with epilepsy including a multidisciplinary program in epilepsy surgery and device implantations. Epilepsy and neurophysiology services include:  outpatient and inpatient adult epilepsy care,  electroencephalography, long-term EEG bedside monitoring, epilepsy monitoring unit with intracranial and stereo-EEG recordings, electrocorticography, specialized epilepsy studies and intra-operative monitoring.  There are ACGME-accredited fellowships in Epilepsy and in Clinical Neurophysiology.   There is a strong relationship with the clinical and research faculty of the Department of Neurosurgery and with the faculty of the translational science programs of the Epilepsy Research Center.  There are outstanding opportunities for career development.

Candidates must hold a medical degree (MD or DO) and be board eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in Neurology (adult) and in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology (preferably both). Faculty rank may be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level depending upon qualifications.  The candidate must be eligible to hold an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas.
